For your futures sake - 25 in 25!

Over the break, I got to thinking about how important career development is in the lives of the people I have worked with, and I came up with 25 reasons why career coaching is vital in 2025. A career coach can walk alongside you to:

1.      Identify your strengths, talent, skills, personality attributes, values and role models to enhance your current role, or that help you look for your next role

2.      Reflect on your personality strengths and how they can be used to enhance team and leadership development

3.      Identify and reflect on your values and how they can be used to guide you in your career decisions

4.      Identify your transferable skills

5.      Write your CV or coach you to write your own CV

6.      Master a job interview

7.      Coach you on looking for a job

8.      Understand your personal brand and the messages you are communicating about yourself to prospective employers

9.      Develop an awareness of your career options, and the training and development required to get there

10.  Pinpoint trends in the labour market so you can manoeuvre to make the most of them

11.  Develop work-in-life balance – look at your whole life and ensure that you are focusing on the things that bring you joy and have the most impact on who you want to become

12.  Develop a transition plan for retirement

13.  Seek out organisations that you might want to work for, that fit who you are

14.  Start developing your business ideas and potential markets
